The 2009 Giro d'Italia was the 92nd edition of Giro d'Italia, one of cycling's Grand Tours, and marked 100 years since the first race in 1909. The centenary Giro featured 198 riders from 30 countries on 22 cycling teams, starting in Venice on 9 May and finishing in Rome on 31 May,ending with the Individual time trial. Ruggero Marzoli (born April 2, 1976 in Pescara) is an Italian professional road bicycle racer. His number was 6,placed 99 and raced for the team of Acqua and Sapone-Caffe Mokambo. After a previous four-month ban in 1999, Marzoli was banned for six months in 2008,after being considered guilty for the attempted use of prohibited substances in relation to the Oil for Drugs case. CONI had appealed for Marzoli to be banned for life,due to the fact that it was a second offence.The 21 stages of the 2009 Giro d'Italia were divided into five categories: one team time trial, seven flat stages, four intermediate stages, seven mountain stages and two individual time trials.[2] The t...
