A heart shaped bougainvillea is a rare delight on the 101 Freeway in LA on the wall of the 101 freeway. About 208,000 daily drivers pass what has been dubbed the Hollywood Heart. It’s a flash of beauty among the shredded tires, gang tags and homeless encampments. For a few years, drivers have been wondering who created the magenta bougainvillea bush into a roughly 30-foot heart. The Los Angeles Daily News investigated and solved the mystery of the massive heart. Artist, Corinne Carrey of Studio City, stepped forward. “Graffiti is a secret code within that community,” said Carrey... The idea of a heart is so universal. It’s a symbol that everyone can connect with.”
